Description
MET XL AM 25/5MG TABLET is a combination of Amlodipine and Metoprolol which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-hypertensives. It is used to treat (hypertension). It is a condition in which the force of the blood against the blood vessel walls is too high which is characterized by symptoms such as headache, irregular heartbeat, vision changes, feeling of overtiredness, nausea, vomiting, confusion, anxiety and chest pain.
MET XL AM 25/5MG TABLET helps to reduce high blood pressure, where amlodipine works by inhibiting the movement of calcium ions into both vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle resulting in lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and improving the flow of blood to the heart muscles. Metoprolol works by reducing the force of contraction of the heart muscles by blocking the effects of certain hormones called adrenaline and making the heart beat more easily thus lowering the blood pressure.
